Before your appointment

What you'll need
to be notary-ready.

A quick checklist so your signing goes smoothly. Have a question about your specific document? Just call or text — we're happy to help you prepare.

Bring a valid photo ID

Your ID must be government-issued and either current or expired less than one year ago.

  • Accepted: driver's license, state ID, military ID, or passport.
  • Not accepted: digital IDs on your phone or photocopies.

No valid ID? Bring a credible witness

  • Your witness must personally know you.
  • They must present their own valid government-issued photo ID.
  • They must appear in person — no calling or video in.

Documents: filled out, not signed

  • You must appear in person — no exceptions.
  • All blanks should be completed, but do not sign or date yet.
  • We cannot give legal advice or help you fill out forms.

If your document needs witnesses

Some documents require witnesses other than the notary. We do not provide witnesses as a service — please arrange your own. Check with your lender, attorney, or the document instructions if you're unsure.

Need an interpreter?

You may use an interpreter, with a few rules: they cannot be named in the document, they cannot benefit from the notarization, and friends or family are fine.

For deaf or hard-of-hearing clients, please arrange for a certified interpreter.

Quick summary

Bring your valid ID, your completed but unsigned documents, and any required witnesses or interpreter. Show up in person — we'll handle the rest.
